Father And Son

My son really liked the astronaut with a cookie painting I did, so he drew an expanded version of it. He asked me to paint some of his aliens for him, and this is the result.

Pre-Spiral Love

I found this ancient drawing that shows an old love for oversized desserts and uncertain creatures.

Dandy In The Underworld - Sketch & Final

I did the (very) rough drawing for this during a meeting at work.

I will actually have new high-quality scans of stuff up on http://spiralsinlove.imagekind.com soon. I just need to either afford a larger scanner or get Fedex and their scanner to work with my schedule.

Thrift Store Kitty

Inspired by a painting found in a thrift store. The cat in the original didn't look any healthier or happier.

Dandy In The Underworld

The other day I saw this Japanese statue of a demon holding a flag. It didn't really look like this, but it made me think about being burdened with carrying a flag forever. Because you are a statue, or a demon, or both. I decided to give the monster a chance to put his flagpole to good use.

Grumpty Dumpty

A quick study for something that hasn't materialized yet.

On The Discs Of The Diaper King

My son made a very detailed request for this painting. I have no idea why. He's a weird kid.

Seahorse Smear

A hippocampus is a fancy seahorse that just wants to be a normal seahorse.

I accidentally smeared my hand through the ink on this one. Watercolor and ink are one-shot mediums most of the time.

Non-Copyrighted Hello Kitties

A generic white cat and my cat Olivia, saying "hello" the way kitties with bows like to.

Kissing Muns

This is the start of my version of a painting by Matt Reynolds. He's been working on a whole series of these creatures called Muns that he created.

Wandering Alone In The Desert...

...carries certain risks.

The Bear Sleeps Alone

A quick doodle...not sure if it will go anywhere.

The Dilemma

The discovery of the gigantic moon cookie was beyond his wildest expectations. It appeared to be the most delicious cookie ever made. But to taste it meant removing his helmet in a vacuum...

Sun-Eater

Another really old drawing. I don't know that I want to adapt this one, but it was interesting to see that the spirals have been around for a while.

SILLY PANDA I HAVE NO FEELINGS

Another version that started out being happier and now it's...not.

Sketch - Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits

Sometimes (not always), I sketch a very rough idea on a notecard or scrap of paper. This was the tiny beginning of a painting that will be on the site soon.

Panda Loves Robot, Robot Feels Nothing

Playing with some new brushes.

Zombie, By Request

Everyone loves zombies. Almost as much as vampires. Zombies are better though.

Fortune Cookie #1

This may or may not end up being part of an upcoming series based on fortune cookies. I kind of hate it right now.

Dreamchasers, With BRANDI 8x10

An inside joke, but also a painting. Yes, the second image is simply a close-up of part of the first.

Trading Cards - The Three Lonely Pigs

Done on trading card-sized watercolor paper at an artwalk.

Dark They Were, And Golden-Eyed

Inspired by the Ray Bradbury story of the same name. This was the first painting on a new kind of paper.

A Kiss

This is a very old drawing that I would like to adapt for a painting.

Something To Celebrate

A werewolf, alone at his own birthday party.

Entrenched

Inspired by Louis Wain's "Entrenched". See the original here:
